A BARB Councilor position is a significant commitment but is extremely rewarding for those passionate about Bluetooth® technology. BARB is responsible for architectural oversight of a Bluetooth specification and defines the processes for creating and maintaining a specification while providing support and guidance during specification development. BARB members influence all aspects of Bluetooth technology from requirements and architecture to design and detailed specification work.
Your organization needs to have a Promoter and Associate level membership with Bluetooth SIG in order to apply for a BARB councilor. BARB consists of Promoter and Associate Councilors as well as each Working Group Chair. There is no restriction on the number of Associate Councilors. Each Associate Member company is limited to only one representative.
How to Apply:
- Complete a BARB Associate Councilor Application.
- Email your completed application to barb-main@bluetooth.org and cc: specification.manager@bluetooth.com.
- Include “BARB Associate Councilor Application” in the email Subject line. Both the Bluetooth SIG and BARB will review the application and the Bluetooth SIG Board of Directors will make a decision at the next board meeting.
Once you have submitted your application, SIG Staff will contact you if they need anything else.
