How to manage my membership level and benefits

Your company’s Primary Contact can manage your membership level in their account portal by following the instructions below.

Membership fees & renewals

For current membership dues and fees, please refer to the Dues and Fees schedule. You will receive a renewal invoice at least 60 days prior to your annual renewal.

 

Upgrading to Associate or Contributing Adopter membership

Increasing your membership benefits is simple and can be done at any time. Your Primary Contact can initiate an upgrade in their Account Portal, which will trigger an invoice email. 

Once we have received your payment, we will update your company’s membership to the selected level and notify you via email. All users at your company will receive a welcome series of emails to help you make the most of your increased membership benefits.

Reducing your membership benefits

Downgrading will be processed at the time of your annual renewal. If your company decides not to renew its Contributing Adopter or Associate Membership, Bluetooth SIG will downgrade your company to the Adopter level the day after your Contributing Adopter or Associate Membership benefit grace period ends. An email will be sent to the Primary Contact at your company notifying them that their account has been downgraded. 

If your company would like to downgrade from Associate to Contributing Adopter, your Primary Contact can reply to the renewal invoice email to notify us, or submit a support request, and we will issue a revised invoice. 

To retain access to Working Groups and qualification fee discount(s), your company must maintain membership at the Associate or Contributing Adopter level.

Changing from Associate to Contributing Adopter 

  • Your company will no longer be eligible to vote or hold leadership positions in Working Groups or Committees 
  • Your company will only receive a discount on the first Product Qualification Fee of each membership year
  • Your Receipt Numbers, including those previously purchased, will expire 6 months from the date of purchase, meaning that any Receipt Numbers purchased more than 6 months before you change your membership level will expire immediately (see Qualification Workspace Terms of Use)
  • Receipt Numbers purchased with your Associate membership will not be available for use unless you pay the difference in purchase price between the Associate and Contributing Adopter rates, even if you change back to Associate membership in the future (see Qualification Workspace Terms of Use)

Benefits lost when changing from Associate to Adopter

  • Your company will no longer be eligible to participate, vote, or hold leadership positions in Working Groups or Committees
  • Your company will no longer have early access to Bluetooth specifications 
  • Your company will no longer be eligible for a discount on any Product Qualification Fees
  • Your Receipt Numbers, including those previously purchased, will expire 6 months from the date of purchase, meaning that any Receipt Numbers purchased more than 6 months before you change your membership level will expire immediately (see Qualification Workspace Terms of Use)
  • Receipt Numbers purchased with your Associate membership will not be available for use unless you pay the difference in purchase price between the Associate and Adopter rates, even if you change back to Associate membership in the future (see Qualification Workspace Terms of Use)
