Keeping your Primary Contact role up-to-date is an important part of being a Bluetooth SIG member, as there are many tasks and responsibilities related to your membership that only a Primary Contact can do.
How to re-assign the Primary Contact role if my current Primary Contact is still with my company
The current Primary Contact is the only individual who can re-assign the role to someone new.
- Go to the My Membership page.
- Select the option to "Re-assign Primary Contact." This will open a new page where the re-assignment can be completed.
-
Select the person who you would like to re-assign the Primary Contact role to from the table of active users.
- If you do not see the person you wish to re-assign the role to in this table, they may need to create a new user account or log in to re-activate their existing user account.
- Upon re-assigning the role, the new Primary Contact may need to log out and log back in for the update to appear on their account.
How to re-assign the Primary Contact role if my current Primary Contact has left my company
If your current Primary Contact is no longer with your company, and if their Bluetooth.com user account has been deactivated, you may be able to re-assign the role on your own by following these steps:
- Go to the My Membership page.
- You should see an alert with instructions on how to re-assign the Primary Contact role to yourself.
- If you don’t see an alert, this means that your current Primary Contact’s user account is still active in our system. You can ask them to log in and re-assign the role, or you can submit a support request. We may reach out to other users on the account or require documentation to validate the change request.
You may need to log out and log back in for all applications to recognize you as the new primary contact for your account.
Who can be a Primary Contact?
-
Anyone with an active user account under your company's membership.
- If the person you wish to become Primary Contact does not have a user account, they must first complete a User Account Application.
- Someone who is able to manage your company’s Bluetooth membership and keep your account information up-to-date.
