What Is a QDID?
Qualified Design IDs (QDID) are assigned to new Bluetooth® designs that have gone through the Qualification with Required Testing path. QDIDs can be referenced by other members when performing their qualifications (referencing applies only to End Product and Subsystem product types). For example, if a member manufactures a Bluetooth module to be used in consumer products created by other members, the module manufacturer may qualify their module through the Qualification with Required Testing path as an End Product product type. They will then have a QDID assigned to their module upon completion of their qualification that they can provide to members that purchase their module. Those members will then be able to qualify via the Qualification with No Required Testing path by referencing the End Product QDID provided by the module manufacturer.
What Is a DID?
Declaration IDs (DID) are identifiers assigned to every qualification, regardless of which qualification path they complete. A qualification that has completed the Qualification with Required Testing path will have both a new QDID and DID for their listing. Qualifications that complete the Qualification with No Required Testing path will have a new DID and referenced QDID(s) for their listing.
Declaration IDs can be obtained by paying a Declaration fee through Launch Studio in the Manage My Declaration IDs page or on the Declaration ID step during the Qualification process.
