On June 27th, 2023, the Bluetooth SIG Board of Directors (BoD) approved a 15% increase in member fees, which will take effect on January 1st, 2024. In addition to the SIG taking appropriate cost control measures, the BoD decided the fee increase is necessary for the organization to cover the rising costs of current and planned member services through 2024.
The Bluetooth SIG is a not-for-profit membership organization that provides a comprehensive range of services to its member companies. Each year, the BoD reviews and approves the Bluetooth SIG operational plan for the following year, including any changes to Bluetooth SIG programs. As part of that process, the BoD evaluates current membership fees and determines if adjustments are necessary for the organization to maintain its not-for-profit operational objectives.
